The next time you are looking for a venue, why not consider an academic venue.
Gone are the days when academic venues were considered to be grungy student environments only. Today's academic venues offer quality, value for money conference facilities which are sophisticated, modern, state of the art and kitted out with the latest audiovisual technology. Accommodation is first-rate, many with en-suite bedrooms and has been compared to a good 3 star standard of hotel with excellent leisure facilities.
Another reason why academic venues are missed off the event organiser's venue search list is they think academic conference facilities are only available for hire during vacation time. This is not true as at least half of the 150 academic venues located around the UK offer their conference facilities and bedroom accommodation for hire throughout the entire year.
Millions of pounds of investment are ploughed into academic venues every year allowing them to dev! elop a quality product, which is on par, if not better than that found at many venues in the non-academic world.
A large number of universities and colleges have gone so far as to build dedicated conference centres which offer meeting space to accommodate from 10-1300 delegates at any one time. High tech, tiered lecture theatres and auditoria fitted with the last audiovisual equipment abound throughout the academic venues of the UK.
A prime example of a top class academic venue is Warwick Conferences, which, under its main banner includes Warwick Conference Park and four purpose built training and conference centres, Scarman, Radcliffe, Arden and Warwick HRI.
At the Meetings & Incentive Travel awards ceremony held at the Novotel London West Hotel earlier this year, Warwick Conferences, for the second year running earned two gold and one silver awards. The gold awards were won for 'best academic venue' (The University of Warwick) and 'best management traini! ng centre (Scarman), the Silver award was for 'best value for ! money co nference venue' (Scarman).
Speaking after the awards ceremony, Alan Robinson, Director of Training and Conference Centres at Warwick Conferences said "Winning three awards is a huge achievement for Warwick Conferences and is an excellent start to 2008" "Our commitment to ensuring great service to our clients is a continuing one, and we aim to achieve even higher standards in the future, improving our facilities and expertise in an ongoing process"
Easily accessible, academic venues are generally centrally located, offer excellent road and public transport links and many have large swaths of on site parking which is either complimentary to delegates or available at a reduced rate.
Delegate Rates are very competitive and the packages comprehensive, often including an LCD projector and screen as standard. If you have a particular budget don't be shy about revealing this when making your enquiry. The vast majority of Academic venues (and any venue in general) a! re always willing to consider negotiation in order to meet the needs and budget of the individual.
